    What is the difference between outpatient and inpatient rehab?

    Outpatient rehab means receiving treatment during day or evening hours but sleeping at home, whereas inpatient rehab refers to 4 to 12 weeks of treatment at an overnight facility, as often portrayed in the media.

    While inpatient rehab, also referred to as residential rehab, is often the right call in certain circumstances, the reality is that many individuals either cannot commit to the financial or time costs, or simply do not need that level of intense counselling to overcome addiction.

    Outpatient rehab is a cost-effective and flexible alternative to inpatient rehab.

    How long does outpatient rehab take?

    Unfortunately, there’s no precise way of determining how long a full and lasting recovery from drug or alcohol addiction will take. The good news is that the overwhelming majority of patients we treat see a marked improvement in their mental health, ability to deal with stress and triggers, and confidence in their ability to maintain sobriety within just a few weeks of starting treatment.
